6 Things DARA is Grateful For
Thanksgiving is here and it is a time which everybody takes to reflect upon the blessings they have. DARA is no exception. We try to be mindful and spread a message of gratefulness through our music. Even still, it can be easy to lose track of the things that truly matter when living in one’s daily life. So here is a short, by no means comprehensive list of the things that we are thankful for.
The Support of Our Friends And Families
It takes a lot of time and energy to create the DARA movement. We would not be able to do what we do without our families and friends supporting us. Through their input on the music, art, and videos, and through financial and emotional support, our friends and families have seen us through thick and thin. The support that we’ve been shown has gone so much further than can be measured.
The Inspiration We Get From Playing Music
The inspiration that we draw from playing our instruments is something that cannot be quantified. We can only hope to share a little bit of the immense inspiration we feel when we play, with those listening. Music is a bottomless well of joy and we are blessed to be able to drink even a small drop.
Our Incredible Management Team
I remember the day that we first started with Steve Phillips of Full Fidelity Studios as our manager. It has been a few months since that day and the strides that we have made since then that have been made have been enormous. We are fortunate to have Steve helping us with the his vast knowledge and resources. I also have to mention that Curtis (part of the Full Fidelity team) has been an incredible resource not just to the band, but especially to me personally. He is an incredible drummer who has shared his immeasurable wisdom.
The Musicians We Are Blessed To Work With
In the time that we have spent to record our album we have been blessed to work with many extraordinary musicians. We’ve worked with a lot of musicians CJ’s hand drums to Kopo’s harp, Jasie’s violin, and Joel’s incredible production knowledge. We are so blessed to have so many great players working on our album with us.
The Teachers We’ve Had Throughout The Years
We are all students in this life. Sometimes though, a teacher comes along that really changes your life. Our journey has been filled with many such teachers. Whether in music, on a job, or in life. I don’t know the stories of all of my band mates teachers, but i certainly have one that sticks out in my mind. Van Christensen was the first drum teacher that I ever had. He did much more than set me out on a musical path with a solid foundation. He taught me how to think like a drummer, and has given me lots of support, and opportunities outside of just the lessons he taught me. I’m sure that Kevin and Ben also have similar teachers and experiences.
You, Our FansI never thought I would be in a position to write a header thanking our fans. When we set out as a band I never thought we’d be getting all of the incredible support that we get for what we do. Every day we have incredible and meaningful conversations with people from around the world. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to connect with so many wonderful people. Every day I am thankful for the opportunity to do so.
DARA Is Grateful For Life, Love, And Music
There is so much in this world to be grateful for. This is only a very short list. We are constantly blown away by the things are happening around us. It would mean the world to us if you can draw inspiration from what we are creating. Hopefully you will take each day as a blessing. What will you do to inspire those around you.
Sending love from DARA,
