It’s been a long strange trip getting The Red Tiger Nebula made. For months we’ve been watching our ideas pour out into reality. The past couple of months has been a whirlwind of creation for us. It’s been a long journey for us, but to quote Lazarus Long, “Nothing is ever built on time or within budget.” That couldn’t be more true! It’s something that’s inspiring to see though. With every extra hour we spend on the album we can feel the ethereal weight of the music growing. It’s been a blessing to have the extra time to work on the album and get it just right.
Everything about the Rigby Roads has become comfortable and homely. Approaching the double door it’s become second nature to twist the doorknob up. It didn’t take getting trapped out on too many smoke breaks to learn that. It’s inspiring just entering the studio. Knowing how much creative energy is flowing through those rooms it’s always a question of What will we create today?
Now that the bulk of the album is recorded and in place, we are focused on picking through it with a fine tooth comb. The goal is for each song to have it’s own unique sparkle. Every part becomes sharper and more purposeful with each session. It’s energizing to be creating a polished album to get out in the world. What’s our next step? Creating the live show to go along with it.
Our time spent in the studio has been a wonderful experience. We’ve learned so much in creating our first album. As the music begins to make it’s way into the public sphere, it’s our hope that people will be able to carry its message in their hearts and minds. Rigby Roads has been a big source of inspiration for us. What kinds of places inspire you?
Sending love from DARA,
