For months we’ve been preparing for this moment. From the outset of the album we’ve been pouring our lives into these songs. There is nothing more exhilarating than the prospect of our music getting out there into the collective consciousness. After all the great feedback that we’ve gotten from some preliminary tests, we’re ready to make a splash with this song.
The sounds that have gone into this song paint a soundscape that is alien and close to home. There is a level of depth that consumes the attention of anyone listening, whether they love it or hate it. Energy and power over flow from every second of the three and a half minute of the song. It’s been inspiring to see the song evolve to what it is today. However the song is received, there is an undeniable drive and power to it.
If this song is able to inspire just one person we will consider this release a success, but we won’t stop until the whole world is moved by the music. The passion behind the music comes through in many ways in Ants On The Hill. A musical reference to “The Ants Go Marching” during the guitar solo calls upon the nostalgia of days past. It also points to deeper questions about society and how we can evolve as a species.
Besides the rich musical references and energetic playing, Ants is loaded with watermarks and sound effects that add ethereal dimensions to the song. Each sound was meticulously picked. There is a story or tidbit from the studio behind every timbre and noise within the music. One of my personal favorites, is the sound of a quazar that thunderously opens the song.
It’s been such a wild year. There is nothing more exciting than seeing what we’ve been pouring our lives into begin to get out into the public eye. Having this first single out is a mile marker that we are exuberant to have gotten to. Big props to everyone who has helped along the way!
Sending love from DARA,
